These products are pressure sensitive tapes using Kapton ® polyimide film coated with
"high temperature" silicone adhesive. The polyimide film provides excellent electrical insulation, abrasion resistance and high dielectric strength. Those products designated with an "asterisk" are UL recognized components.
These tapes are used primarily in electrical applications such as capacitor wrapping, gold finger masking, insulation in transformers, coils, flat cables and connectors and high temperature harness wrapping.

This tape consisting of a "polyimide film" and silicone adhesive has been designed for high temperature applications. This product has excellent electrostatic discharge properties. The ESD additive reducing the electrostatic discharge that occurs upon tape removal. 18-1ESD can safely and cleanly be removed from printed circuit boards. The proprietary adhesive system provides high electrostatic dissipation without sacrificing adhesive strength at extreme temperatures.
The primary uses for this product are gold finger protection during wave solder applications that require reduced electrostatic discharge upon tape removal.
Double-sided Polyimide (Kapton®) has a 1 mil thick Polyimide film with 1.7 mils of high temperature pressure sensitive SILICONE adhesive on both sides. This tape is constructed to fill the requirements of a high performance Thermoplastic Polyimide backing materials along with the high temperature resistance of the silicone adhesive for a broad range of electronic assembly and electrical insulation applications.
PERFORMANCE & APPLICATION
Double-sided Polyimide tapes exhibit superior heat resistant qualities along with low moisture absorption. This tape has excellent mechanical and electrical properties and a high dielectric rating. The 18-1DS tapes are used in high voltage insulation.
White polyimide has excellent solvent and scratch resistance which makes it ideal for marking or labeling electronic components especially printed circuit boards. Other applications include rating plates, nameplates, and industrial bar code applications.
Matte white polyimide film is designed for electronics labeling. This white polyimide tape is coated with a aggressive acrylic adhesive and backed with a kraft release liner.

Kapton® tape die cuts are available in squares, circles, and washers. All of these parts are supplied on a clear liner poly for peel and stick application. Silicone adhesive backing has a max temperature of 500°F. These parts are ideal for applications that require coverage on precise locations in example PCB boards or other electrical applications.
