UHMW High Bond (HB) Tape has all the benefits of strong, slippery, abrasion-resistant UHMW (ultra-high molecular weight) polyethylene tape, plus a super-high bond adhesive. Low friction UHMW High Bond tape is an excellent choice for applications which require adhesion to difficult-to-bond, Low Surface Energy surfaces like some plastics, powder-coats, foams, and oily metals. UHMW-HB even sticks to high slip surfaces like Teflon®, Acrylic, PE, etc.
UHMW Film is FDA compliant for Food Contact.
UHMW High Bond Tape is available in many film thicknesses: .010", .020", .030", .060". Adhesive is .002" thick. This material is a natural, opaque white color.

UHMW VHBF is a new specialty film tape featuring the foam energy absorbing and stress relaxing properties of 3M™ VHB® acrylic foam tape laminated to UHMW polyethylene film as a low friction surface. Designed with packaging applications in mind, this tape is ideal for high impact areas located on conveyor systems such as chutes or rail systems that require a lubricated like surface without reapplication of oils or friction reducing agents. Utilizing UHMW as a surface layer creates an abrasion resistant surface with low friction properties. Although the adhesive backing is conformable, the added film layer of UHMW creates a semi stiff surface ideal for placement over existing linear substrates like sheet metal or aluminum rail systems. The versatility of the VHB® adhesive allows this tape to be adhered on a variety of high and medium surface energy substrates creating more opportunity in applications with mismatched substrates. Due to the converting process, this material is only available in sheets that can be die cut to your tolerance specifications. Common shapes like discs, squares, and rectangles are listed below that can be used to cover rivets, create a bumper, or reduce friction points.
UHMW Polyethylene is an ideal solution to reduce friction on all types of surfaces. UHMW provides a non-stick low friction surface similar to PTFE but with much higher puncture and abrasion resistance. UHMW Tape is also available with pre-applied acrylic or rubber adhesive, eliminating mechanical fastening and providing quick and easy installation.
