UHMW Tape- VHB™ Adhesive (19-VHBF)

UHMW VHBF is a new specialty film tape featuring the foam energy absorbing and stress relaxing properties of 3M™ VHB® acrylic foam tape laminated to UHMW polyethylene film as a low friction surface. Designed with packaging applications in mind, this tape is ideal for high impact areas located on conveyor systems such as chutes or rail systems that require a lubricated like surface without reapplication of oils or friction reducing agents. Utilizing UHMW as a surface layer creates an abrasion resistant surface with low friction properties. Although the adhesive backing is conformable, the added film layer of UHMW creates a semi stiff surface ideal for placement over existing linear substrates like sheet metal or aluminum rail systems. The versatility of the VHB® adhesive allows this tape to be adhered on a variety of high and medium surface energy substrates creating more opportunity in applications with mismatched substrates. Due to the converting process, this material is only available in sheets that can be die cut to your tolerance specifications. Common shapes like discs, squares, and rectangles are listed below that can be used to cover rivets, create a bumper, or reduce friction points.
