Kapton® Polyimide Tape- Silicone Adhesive (18-S)

Kapton Tape with Silicone Adhesive (18-S series)- DuPont® Kapton® tape is composed of polyimide film coated with "high temperature" silicone adhesive rated up to 500°F. Polyimide film provides excellent electrical insulation, abrasion resistance and high dielectric strength. Silicone adhesive Kapton tapes are mainly used in applications that require high temperature resistance for both the polyimide film and its adhesive. Another unique property is that silicone adhesive is not an “high tack” adhesive, which allows it to be used in applications that require a clean release removal, like high temperature masking. Kapton Tape with silicone adhesive are used primarily in electrical applications such as capacitor wrapping, gold finger masking, insulation in transformers, coils, flat cables and connectors and high temperature harness wrapping. Kapton tape’s unique ability to maintain its physical, mechanical, and electrical properties and its wide temperature range makes it appealing to a wide range of industries applications.
