PETG or (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) is a cost-effective transparent thermoplastic film that has great thermoforming ability, moderate impact resistance, and exceptional clarity. PETG is often compared to polycarbonate, although it does not have the rigidity or impact strength of polycarbonate. PETG is designed to be easily conformable which makes it ideal for applications that require ultimate clarity and transparency versus other performance properties. This material is easy to fabricate and machine which makes it a cost-effective plastic that can be used in a variety of engineering applications or sign applications used in visual merchandising.

CS Hyde Company supplies three types of high performance polycarbonate film; Clear Polycarbonate-type GG (gloss/gloss surface), Clear Hard Coated Polycarbonate- Type HC, and Translucent Hazy Polycarbonate- type VM (Velvet/Matte surface). Polycarbonate films have exceptional impact strength, weatherability and thermoformability. Our clear polycarbonate film is idea for optical clarity applications that also require high impact strength properties. Velvet/Matte polycarbonate is also available that is translucent in color and can be used for privacy applications while maintaining high impact strength. Common plastics associated with polycarbonate include Acrylic, Mylar®, Polyester, and PETG. In comparison, Polycarbonate has a higher impact strength than most acrylic and PETG, and better dimensional stability than Mylar® or Polyester (PET). Polycarbonate film is a great all-around high-performance material for various applications. Polycarbonate rolls or sheets available in .005”, .010", .015", and .020" thicknesses. Polycarbonate Adhesive Tape rolls and sheets are also available. Our in house lamination capabilities enable us to produce 3M™ pressure sensitive adhesive backed polycarbonate sheets and rolls. An ideal option for eliminating mechanical fastening.

About Ultem® PEI & 3D Printing:
Ultem®/PEI (polyetherimide) has struck the 3D printing world as a high performance building surface/platform for 3D printing beds. Ultem®/PEI offers extreme heat resistance, coupled with high mechanical strength, stiffness, UV stability, and broad chemical resistance. This combination of properties allows this film to be utilized in a wide variety of demanding new design concepts including aerospace, automotive, and even medical applications. PEI is a functional product for 3D printing due to its extremely smooth finish, high temperature resistance, and ability to provide print placement security while releasing prints smoothly. Ultem®/PEI is ideal for ABS and PLA filament however it also can be used with other filament types. For easy installation, our sheets are backed with high temp 3M™ Acrylic Adhesive- Easy remove liner. Peel, place and begin printing (no self laminating required).
