including TeflonTM Fluoropolymers, Kapton®, UHMW, PTFE coated fiberglass, PVDF, Mylar®, 3M® & Kevlar® products.
For electronic components that require extra protection from static damage during assembly or repair Electrostatic dissipative (ESD) polyimide tape is available. ESD polyimide tape helps provide protection from electrically charged objects that cause electric shorts or dielectric breakdown. ESD polyimide tape applications include masking gold contacts on PCBs or protecting sensitive components on circuit boards through manufacturing.
For fabricating or mounting applications requiring adhesive on two or both sides Double Sided Kapton® tape is recommended. This tape is constructed to fill the requirements of a high performance thermoplastic polyimide film along with the high temperature resistance of silicone adhesive for a broad range of electronic assembly and electrical insulation applications. For example, double sided Kapton® has been used as a mounting system to manufacture photovoltaic panels (solar panels). Double sided Kapton® tape provides high temperature insulation and its two-sided high temperature silicone adhesive limits the need for mechanical fastening. When the application of Kapton® tape in some of these components require polyimide tape to be cut to a certain width or manufactured in to die cut parts like squares, washers, or circles. CS Hyde has in house converting capabilities to provide custom width rolls and die cut rolls with shapes designed for peel and stick application. Additionally, for more intricate Kapton® die cut parts we can utilize rotary die cutting or die less knife cutting that enables us to rapidly produce custom parts directly from a supplied .DXF drawing.
CS Hyde also stock diffrent types of DuPont® Kapton® FILM (no adhesive - see films section). CS Hyde can also supply slit to width Kapton® film rolls in 50 FT and 100 FT lengths.
